Death*circa 28 March 1915 Conrad died circa 28 March 1915 at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA. FOUND PRINCE'S BODY IN CANAL
Man Missing for Several Weeks Believed
to Have Died a Suicide

The Amoskeag canal gave up the body of another suicide yesterday, when after the water had been drawn off to expedite the search, the body of Conrad Prince, missing from his home since March 28, was found near the Granite St. bridge. The man was a shoe worker and had lived with his wife at 104 Wilson St. He had a habit of indulging in infrequent sprees and his death was the culmination of one of these.
Officials of the department who had a personal acquaintance with the man were put on the case a couple of days after his disappearance but it was impossible to get the slightest clue as to his movements after he left home.
That Prince committed suicide after being unnerved by drink, is the belief of the police. He was not a hard drinker, they say, but occasionally used to go on a few days' spree. According to the officials, the wife had requested that he be locked up for a few days if found, as she said, they declare, that he was frequenting a certain saloon, a habit with him when starting on a drinking spell.
The body was found in the canal just south of Granite St. The continued absence of prince caused the officials to believe he had taken his life, and yesterday the water was drawn from the canal. The body lay in mid-stream, with arms extended, showing Prince had put up a desperate struggle after getting into the water.
The dead man was a shoe worker by trade, and an industrious chap, barring his occasional drinking spells.
He has a brother, Hector Prince, well known throughout the country as a weight lifter.

Beaude celebrated a requiem high mass. The bearers were Cleophas Gagnon, Gedeon and Hector Prince and Donat Provencher. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. (with Parents) Census 192012 January 1920 Joseph Louis Albert (Louis) Prince appeared on the 1920 U.S. census of Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire in the household of his parents, Hector Prince and Clarina Gagne.4
Death*24 March 1974 Joseph died on 24 March 1974 at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA, at age 70. Manchester's Louis "Lou" Prince, 70, who fought professionally in the featherweight class throughout New England and New York from 1922 to 1930 and retired owner of Prince's Grill on Bridge Street died yesterday after a long illness.
Prince lost his only amateur bout before entering the ranks of pros to Bib Labore, also an illustrious Manchester boxer.
"I had never even seen a fight before in my life, and I never even trained," he was to say at the time he became the popular owner of the grill where upon occasion the patrons would get him to talk of his prowess in the ring.
Lou's career in the squared circle came to a close when he became crippled with arthritis and was hospitalized for four years, but he licked that disease as he had done to so many challengers along the Eastern seaboard.
"The doctor told me then I'd never walk again," Lou once mused as he tended his taps at his bar on busy Bridge Street.
Lou never grew any taller than the five feet, three and one-half inches he entered rings with to defeat countless opponents, but the one thing he always boasted of was "I was never knocked out."
Only once did Prince leave the featherweight class for a bout, and that was when he fought and took the bantamweight crown from Chizzy Labore.
To get into the weight limitation for that fight, Lou had to shed poundage, and to reach the 118-pound ceiling, he donned three overcoats and before the weigh-in at the Police Station he shoveled coal at the station and sweated off the necessary poundage to face and whip Labore. That 10-rounder in 1924 gained him the only title he ever had, but it became a prime notch in his Granite State and eastern U.S. ring career.
Prince never forgot his days in the ring, even that brief time in the 20's when he lived in Bridgeport, Conn. and boxed under the name of Lou Piquitte at the suggestion of his short-time promoter-friend in the Nutmeg State.
From time to time, more than one of his ring opponents dropped in to reminisce with him about the excitement of their ring days, and without too much doubt, a few will be among the mourners at St. Georges church Wednesday.
The family includes his wife, Mrs. Flora (Gauthier) Prince of Manchester; two sons, Robert L. Prince and Donald F. Prince, both of Manchester; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Ouelette an Mrs. Edward Schunemann, both of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday in St. Georges Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.l.5,6
Burial*27 March 1974 His body was interred on 27 March 1974 at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.5,7
